Today’s contest is the monthly banjo giveaway from the Banjo Hangout. And this month is a good one! Up for grabs is a Gold Tone CEB 5 5-string Cello Banjo, worth $1,250.
I little info, my friends?
The 5 string cello banjo, originally used in turn of the century banjo orchestras, has been redefined in this Gold Tone model. Great for classical style, but also may be tuned 1 octave lower in a variety of tunings and played by any banjoist for unique voicings, lead, lines and accompaniments. The 14” body is very loud and the brass tone ring extends its punchy tone. The shortened scale makes fingering easy. It uses nylon high tension classical strings. Includes deluxe archtop hard shell case.
Entry Deadline: March 21, 2010

I’m a nineteen year old auburn student, i was put into the hospital because some test showed that i had had a heart attack, while sitting in the hospital i was thinking of things that i would’ve wanted to do with my life because i seriously thought i might be done. One of the first things that came to mind was that i had always dreamed of playing the banjo, and i promised myself to get a banjo if i got better, after two days of test they found out i was ok, but it was the scariest momment of my life. I want to keep the promise to myself but it will be years before i could manage to save up $500 or so to afford a decent banjo. I saw this and just maybe i’ll win…wish me luck
Thanks for the comment, Nick. How scary. I’m pulling for you…good luck!
The Banjo Hangout usually runs a giveaway each month, so if you don’t win this one, check back each month for another chance.
